Who We Are

Southern Illinois Carry Corporation is an Illinois corporation, located in Southern Illinois, and was founded by attorneys who live and work in Southern Illinois, and who have handled criminal and civil cases throughout Southern Illinois, and in fact across Illinois, Missouri and other states.  Our headquarters is located in Wood River, Illinois. 

All owners and affiliated counsel of Southern Illinois Carry Corporation are attorneys who are licensed by, at least, the Supreme Court of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  Attorneys in Illinois are not allowed by state ethical rules to claims specialty or special skill in any areas of the law, even if true.  However, all owners and affiliated counsel of Southern Illinois Carry Corporation are in good standing with the Illinois Supreme Court, have tried multiple jury trials, and/or have handled multiple cases on appeal.  All owners and affiliated counsel have the experience necessary to help you, should the unthinkable happen, and you have to protect yourself or your loved ones from a lethal threat.

Southern Illinois Carry Corporation is not a law firm, but rather it handles pre-paid legal defense plans for Illinois lawyers who are affiliated counsel, including the owners of Southern Illinois Carry.  Southern Illinois Carry Corporation is also not an insurance company.  If you are sued, or lose property, we will not pay any judgment entered against you, or any settlement amount.  We will also not replace or pay for lost or stolen property.  What we do is handle pre-paid legal defense for licensed Illinois gun owners, for who the unthinkable has happened.

What We Do

Southern Illinois Carry Corporation is a legal service membership plan that was designed for Concealed Carry License and FOID Card holders, who live in Southern Illinois.  We are not an insurance plan, we are a legal defense service plan.  The member pays a flat yearly fee and enters into a legal agreement with the company who is obligated to provide the service listed in the agreement if certain events happen.  Southern Illinois Carry Corporation then takes on the burden of the out-of-pocket expenses associated with defending a self defense and/ or use of force incident, such as attorney fees, investigator costs, trial expenses and expert witness costs.   Unlike other competitive plans, Southern Illinois Carry Corporation is based in Southern Illinois, and focuses its plans with an eye for persons who actually live in Southern Illinois.

Southern Illinois Carry Corporation does not have the conflicts of an insurance product because the company is designed to indemnify the cost of the incident and not the outcome of the trials.  This is not a reimbursement package and no money is required to be paid back by you to the company regardless of the outcome.  You are covered in all 102 counties in Illinois, as well as Saint Louis City, Saint Louis County, and Saint Charles County, Missouri, for any place you can legally possess a firearm in a life threatening self-defense incident.  We anticipate adding additional counties in contiguous (i.e. adjoining) states, as we qualify appropriate additional affiliated counsel, and as we do so we will add this coverage to your package without additional cost to you.  Thus, for instance, if you live in Belleville or Carbondale, Illinois, we will cover you on your vacation to Chicago, even though we do not issue plans to persons to live in Chicago.  

Southern Illinois Carry Corporation will cover ANY use of force our plan holders choose to defend their lives or the life of another in self-defense, anywhere in Illinois, and in those non-Illinois counties in contiguous states listed in our policy, as long as they are not the aggressor, and the weapon used was legal in the place it was used.  Southern Illinois Carry Corporation coverage is the same for appeals and mistrials at no additional cost to its members.

Simply Notify Us When There is a Need

Southern Illinois Concealed Carry has a system that is instituted with a call for help, either by phone, e-mail or on our web-page.  An attorney actually located in Southern Illinois will usually call you within minutes of a critical incident, if it is still ongoing, or if you have already been arrested, meet you at whatever facility you have been taken to.  This gets you in contact with an attorney at the most critical point, and that is at the beginning.  The beginning is when you need help the most, because it is the adrenaline is still fresh, the police are still investigating and, frankly, this is when people may say things without realizing how they can be twisted to imply something that was not meant. 

Obviously every incident is different and unique.  The best case scenario is the police investigate, find you acted appropriately, and nothing is ever filed in any court.  The worst case scenario is that you are criminally charged with a major felony, and your attacker, or his family files a civil suit against you, for doing nothing more than defending yourself and your family.  Effective legal defense requires letting lawyers do their job.  Southern Illinois Carry Corporation will not try to micro-manage the attorney handling your case, as it is the qualified attorney that advises you, not the corporation.  But we will make our resources available to the attorney.  This includes available experts on firearms, self-defense, law enforcement and related topics.

Unlike "national" organizations, we are located in the same area code where you live, not some other state or time zone.  In other words, we have attorneys, who are actually licensed in Illinois (or those counties in Missouri your coverage applies), who live and work in Illinois, who can be, on scene, with you, in mere hours, or less. 

Cost Savings

Illinois Concealed Carry Corporation is able to provide a cost savings for their members for several reasons. First, the members are required to not only have a FOID card, but also be licensed concealed weapons carriers (or have applied for an Illinois Concealed Firearms License). Thus, they have already been vetted by the Illinois State Police, and have at least, 16 hours of proficiency training and testing.  Furthermore, we run a local independent check on our applicants, just to make sure that a local trouble maker didn't just slip by through cracks in the system.  From an actuarial standpoint, that makes Southern Illinois Carry Corporation members very cost effective to cover. Secondly, we don't try to become experts in the laws of state you don't live in, and don't visit very often.  We cater to residents of Southern Illinois.  Sure, we will cover you on your trip to Chicago, or to Saint Louis, Missouri, but you probably don't go to Hawaii or New Jersey that often, so we don't have to have affiliated lawyers who are experts on Hawaii or New Jersey law.  This saves you money, and if you do need coverage in one of those states, other companies do offer coverage, for a price much higher than we charge for our local coverage.

If the unthinkable happens, we cannot guarantee an outcome, but we will do what we can to make sure your legal rights are protected without bankrupting you.  At Southern Illinois Carry Corporation, we provide for your defense after you have had to defend yourself.
